Turkey’s Yasa in for MR quartet at Yangzijiang

Turkey’s Yasa is back to ordering tankers with slots secured at a private shipyard in China.

The Istanbul-based owner is said to have placed an order at Yangzijiang Shipbuilding for four MR product carriers.

Brokers are listing a price tag of $41m per 50,000 dwt vessel expected for delivery from yards in Jiangsu Province in 2026.

Yasa’s tanker unit operates 14 ships, ranging from VLCCs to MRs. According to VesselsValue, Yasa’s last tanker order was placed in March 2020 – a 158,200 dwt suezmax Yasa Polaris at South Korea’s Daehan, now DH Shipbuilding.
