Tsakos Energy Navigation makes LR1 newbuild move

Greek owner Tsakos Energy Navigation (TEN) has set out to expand its tanker fleet with five additional newbuilds. The New York-listed firm, which earlier this year booked a 154,400 dwt shuttle tanker at Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea, has revealed “firm discussions” with a Far Eastern yard for the construction of five LR1 vessels.  …
