Ridgebury Tankers ships out suezmax for $45m

US shipowner Ridgebury Tankers has continued pruning its fleet with the sale of a fourteen-year-old suezmax.
Multiple industry sources said the Connecticut-based outfit led by Bob Burke has offloaded the 2009-built
Ridgebury John Zipser to an unnamed buyer for a reported price of $45m.
The scrubbed-fitted 164,800 dwt vessel built by Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries was picked up from Awilco for $43.3m in December 2013.
The latest sale brings Ridgebury’s fleet down to two tankers, the 2006-built MR2 products carrier Ridgebury Galileo and the 2008-built suezmax Ridgebury Judith, worth combined around $64m according to valuation platform VesselsValue.
