OPERATIONS AT COLOMBO DOCKYARD RETURNING TO NORMAL

Colombo Dockyard has confirmed that operations at the yard are now back to normal following the terror attacks in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday.

A number of vessels are being worked on in dock, including the 36,000 dwt tanker, Hansa Prem, owned by Mercator, which will be followed in Dock No. 4 by a 21,000 dwt cement carrier, Chanya Naree, owned by Great Circle Shipping Agency.

Victoria 267, a 6500 dwt tanker owned by Vivcore Energy Solutions, is being accommodated in Drydock No. 1, and a 2900 dwt tanker, Mahaweli, owned by Lanka Marine Services, is being handled in Dock No. 2. TCI Prabhu, a general cargo ship, owned by the Indian company TCI Seaways, is in Dock No. 3, while a cable layer being built for Japanese interests is alongside at the yard’s South newbuilding pier
