Orders pile up at Chengxi Shipyard

The orders are stacking at China’s Chengxi Shipyard. German owner Schoeller Holdings has ordered two 50,000 dwt MR tankers at the CSSC-affiliated yard, according to Clarksons Research. The owner previously ordered two such units at the yard in June. All four units are due to be delivered in 2026 with no details of price revealed.
Splash reported last week Greek shipping mogul George Economou has signed for a pair of kamsarmax bulk carrier newbuilds at Chengxi Shipyard to build and deliver 82,600 dwt units in 2026. Earlier this month, Agricore Shipping and Huaxia Financial Leasing also booked a pair of kamsarmaxes each at the same yard.
