{"id":9617,"date":"2020-05-11T18:02:28","date_gmt":"2020-05-11T15:02:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/mhi-vestas-deck-carrier-ready-to-serve\/9617\/"},"modified":"2020-05-11T18:02:28","modified_gmt":"2020-05-11T15:02:28","slug":"mhi-vestas-deck-carrier-ready-to-serve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/mhi-vestas-deck-carrier-ready-to-serve\/9617\/","title":{"rendered":"MHI Vestas deck carrier ready to serve"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>United Wind Logistics (UWL) has taken delivery of the deck carrier, MV BoldWind, which will shortly start her long-term charter with MHI Vestas Offshore Wind.<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.offshorewind.biz\/file\/sites\/6\/2020\/05\/11151055\/MHI-Vestas-Deck-Carrier-Ready-to-Serve-Video.png\" alt=\"MHI Vestas deck carrier ready to serve\" class=\"wp-image-282697\" \/><figcaption>Source: UWL<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The MV BoldWind will now start her maiden voyage from Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard&#8217;s yard in Zhenjiang, China, to Europe.<\/p>\n<p>On the maiden voyage, the 148.5-metre vessel will carry Vestas wind turbine blades from China to Norway for DSV Panalpina.<\/p>\n<p>UWL has a second deck carrier under construction at  Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard. This vessel, MV BraveWind, is expected to be delivered within the next four months. The shipbuilding contract has an option for two additional vessels. <\/p>\n<p>BoldWind has a deadweight of 10,000 mtons, a deck length of 128 metres, and a width of 28 metres. She combines an optimized hull design and diesel electric propulsion to suit its dedicated service field, UWL said.<\/p>\n<p>The electric package is supplied by ABB and powered by four MAN diesel generators. Additionally, the MAN engines meet IMO Tier III emission regulations being equipped with a Selective Catalytic Reduction system.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe are proud to affirm our company\u2019s aspirations to take over as front-runners for an eco-friendly shipping industry.
