Chinese shipbuilder Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering has won an order to build liquefied petroleum tankers for Germany’s Hartmann Group.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The contract includes the construction of three 5000 cubic meter LPG ships and additional order for two vessels.<\/p>\n

CIMC SOE, which is a unit of CIMC ENRIC, claims that the vessels will be the world’s first dual-fuelled full-pressure LPG carriers.<\/p>\n

The vessels will feature MAN’s LPG dual-fuelled main engine.<\/p>\n

CIMC SOE said the deal was signed via a video conference due to the current situation related to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

The two companies previously joined forces on a number of projects including the liquefied ethylene gas (LEG) carrier Gaschem Beluga.<\/p>\n
