{"id":5066,"date":"2020-02-24T17:34:46","date_gmt":"2020-02-24T14:34:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/guyana-becomes-worlds-newest-oil-exporter\/5066\/"},"modified":"2020-02-24T17:34:46","modified_gmt":"2020-02-24T14:34:46","slug":"guyana-becomes-worlds-newest-oil-exporter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/guyana-becomes-worlds-newest-oil-exporter\/5066\/","title":{"rendered":"Guyana becomes world\u2019s newest oil exporter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>The world has a new source of oil from the Caribbean with Guyana exporting its first batch of crude earlier this week and setting out plans to produce 750,000 barrels per day by 2025.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><em>Alphatanker<\/em>, part of AXSMarine, reports in its latest weekly report that the 158,000 dwt <span style=\"color:#00adeb;\" class=\"mt_tooltip\" data-mturl=\"\/en\/ais\/details\/ships\/shipid:754761\/mmsi:538008332\/vessel:754761\" data-mmsi=\"538008332\" data-imo=\"9411343\" data-dwt=\"158149\" data-yob=\"2010\" data-typename=\"Crude Oil Tanker\" data-typecolor=\"8\" data-countrycode=\"MH\" data-country=\"Marshall Is\" data-info=\"Crude Oil Tanker [MH]\" data-photourl=\"https:\/\/photos.marinetraffic.com\/ais\/showphoto.aspx?shipid=754761\" data-assetname=\"YANNIS P.\" data-assettype=\"Vessel\">Yannis P<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display:none\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.marinetraffic.com\/ais\/showphoto.aspx?shipid=754761\"> set sail on Monday from Guyana\u2019s Liza FPSO carrying the country\u2019s first crude oil export. The 1m barrels cargo, owned by US major ExxonMobil, is currently heading for Houston where it is anticipated to be refined in the company\u2019s Baytown refinery.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Guyanese production is set to ramp up to 120,000 barrels per day over the coming months.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Reuters reported yesterday that Guyana\u2019s government is on the lookout for an oil company or oil trading firm to sell and market its crude.
