{"id":4788,"date":"2020-02-20T22:55:27","date_gmt":"2020-02-20T19:55:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/modec-acquires-aeolos-vlcc-for-fpso-conversion\/4788\/"},"modified":"2020-02-20T22:55:27","modified_gmt":"2020-02-20T19:55:27","slug":"modec-acquires-aeolos-vlcc-for-fpso-conversion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/modec-acquires-aeolos-vlcc-for-fpso-conversion\/4788\/","title":{"rendered":"Modec acquires Aeolos VLCC for FPSO conversion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>Japan\u2019s Modec has acquired a 2001-built VLCC from Greek owner Epaminondas Embiricos-controlled Aeolos Management for FPSO conversion.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Multiple shipbroking houses including Allied Shipbroking, Anchor Shipbroking and Seasure Shipbroking reported that the 306,000 dwt DSME-built vessel <span style=\"color:#00adeb;\" class=\"mt_tooltip\" data-mturl=\"\/en\/ais\/details\/ships\/shipid:3215\/mmsi:636018676\/vessel:3215\" data-mmsi=\"636018676\" data-imo=\"9220720\" data-dwt=\"305965\" data-yob=\"2001\" data-typename=\"Crude Oil Tanker\" data-typecolor=\"8\" data-countrycode=\"LR\" data-country=\"Liberia\" data-info=\"Crude Oil Tanker [LR]\" data-photourl=\"https:\/\/photos.marinetraffic.com\/ais\/showphoto.aspx?shipid=3215\" data-assetname=\"ASTIPALAIA\" data-assettype=\"Vessel\">Astipalaia<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display:none\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.marinetraffic.com\/ais\/showphoto.aspx?shipid=3215\"> was sold to Modec, and according to <em>VesselsValue<\/em>, the price of the deal is $26.5m, slightly higher than its valuation of $25.29m.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>In January, Modec secured <a href=\"https:\/\/splash247.com\/modec-awarded-bacalhau-fpso-contract-by-equinor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #000080;\">one FPSO project from Equinor<\/span><\/a> in Brazil and <a href=\"https:\/\/splash247.com\/modec-awarded-sangomar-fpso-contract-by-woodside\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #000080;\">another FPSO contract<\/span><\/a> from Woodside Energy offshore Senegal.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Modec currently operates a fleet of 18 FPSO tankers.<\/p>\n<p>splash247<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Japan\u2019s Modec has acquired a 2001-built VLCC from Greek owner Epaminondas Embiricos-controlled Aeolos Management for FPSO conversion.
