{"id":4357,"date":"2020-01-21T21:57:15","date_gmt":"2020-01-21T18:57:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/?p=4357"},"modified":"2020-01-21T21:57:18","modified_gmt":"2020-01-21T18:57:18","slug":"croatian-div-group-to-buy-norways-kleven-verft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/croatian-div-group-to-buy-norways-kleven-verft\/4357\/","title":{"rendered":"Croatian DIV Group to Buy Norway\u2019s Kleven Verft"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"content\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Croatian DIV Group has agreed with Norwegian expedition cruise operator Hurtigruten to acquire Kleven Verft, a Ulsteinvik-based builder of ferries and offshore support vessels.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The agreement is expected to be implemented in the coming weeks, Kleven said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">DIV Group is a consortium of maritime and metal processing companies which also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldmaritimenews.com\/archives\/78353\/brodosplit-shipyard-gets-new-owner-croatia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">acquired<\/a>\u00a0the Croatian shipyard Brodosplit in 2013.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Commenting on the acquisition, Kjetil Bollestad, CEO of Kleven Verft, said that the shipyard\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldmaritimenews.com\/archives\/229288\/kleven-secures-cash-injection-from-hurtigruten-led-investors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">has undergone a difficult time<\/a>\u00a0but managed to deliver<em>\u00a0\u201cfantastic\u201d<\/em>\u00a0ships. With the new owner, the yard has long-term development plans, he added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition, Tomislav Debeljak, owner and CEO of DIV Group, said that the transaction opens up the opportunity for cooperation between two shipyards. He believes that the acquisition would create synergy effects in all segments of the two shipyards\u2019 operations. In addition, the transaction would result in lower costs, savings of up to 5 percent and better competitiveness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2019, Kleven delivered to Hurtigruten MS Roald Amundsen,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldmaritimenews.com\/archives\/286148\/hurtigruten-worlds-1st-hybrid-electric-powered-cruise-ship-named-in-antarctica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the world\u2019s first hybrid electric-powered expedition ship<\/a>\u00a0and its sister vessel, MS Fridtjof Nansen.
