{"id":4178,"date":"2019-12-30T20:32:40","date_gmt":"2019-12-30T17:32:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/?p=4178"},"modified":"2019-12-30T20:32:42","modified_gmt":"2019-12-30T17:32:42","slug":"hyundai-heavy-industries-group-clinches-deals-for-six-new-ships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/hyundai-heavy-industries-group-clinches-deals-for-six-new-ships\/4178\/","title":{"rendered":"Hyundai Heavy Industries Group Clinches Deals for Six New Ships"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"content\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) Group, the biggest shipbuilder in South Korea, has secured two new orders for a total of six vessels.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On December 26, Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, a subsidiary of HHI Group, announced a construction contract for four 1,800 TEU containerships.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The deal, signed with Taiwan\u2019s Evergreen Marine, is worth KRW 119.4 billion (USD 102.8 million).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The ship quartet is slated for delivery by the end of October 2021, Hyundai Mipo said in a stock exchange filing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Separately, Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, also part of HHI, revealed a KRW 218.8 billion (USD 188.4 million) order for two very large crude carriers (VLCCs).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The tankers were ordered by an unnamed Asian shipowner and are scheduled to be delivered by the end of June 2021.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The latest orders follow the ones\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldmaritimenews.com\/archives\/288560\/hhi-group-bolsters-orderbook-ahead-of-year-end\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">received<\/a>\u00a0by HHI during the previous week which comprise\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldmaritimenews.com\/archives\/288254\/hhi-group-receives-usd-1-13-bn-orders-for-six-lng-carriers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">eighteen new ships<\/a>.
