{"id":34438,"date":"2023-08-15T10:52:32","date_gmt":"2023-08-15T07:52:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/mine-explosion-near-romanias-constanta-port-spooks-ukrainian-grain-exporters\/34438\/"},"modified":"2023-08-15T10:52:32","modified_gmt":"2023-08-15T07:52:32","slug":"mine-explosion-near-romanias-constanta-port-spooks-ukrainian-grain-exporters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/mine-explosion-near-romanias-constanta-port-spooks-ukrainian-grain-exporters\/34438\/","title":{"rendered":"Mine explosion near Romania\u2019s Constanta port spooks Ukrainian grain exporters\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content entry clearfix\">\n<div class=\"mailmunch-forms-before-post\" style=\"display: none !important;\"><\/div>\n<p>Russia\u2019s efforts to strangle Ukrainian grain exports are seeing it come ever closer to bringing a NATO member into the conflict.<\/p>\n<p>Since quitting a United Nations-brokered grain shipping pact last month, Russian forces have targeted Ukrainian ports and grain export facilities including sending drones to attack ports on the Danube , just a couple of hundred of metres away from the shoreline of Romania, a NATO member.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Romania\u2019s president Klaus Iohannis called Russia\u2019s repeated attacks on Ukraine\u2019s Danube infrastructure near Romania \u201cunacceptable\u201d earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRussia\u2019s continued attacks against the Ukrainian civilian infrastructure on the Danube, in the proximity of Romania, are unacceptable. These are war crimes and they further affect capacity to transfer their food products towards those in need in the world,\u201d Iohannis said on social media.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, Russian forces <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/splash247.com\/russian-warship-fires-at-turkish-bulk-carrier\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fired warning shots in international waters and boarded<\/a><\/span> a Palau-flagged dry bulk carrier owned by Turkish interests, another NATO member.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mailmunch-forms-in-post-middle\" style=\"display: none !important;\"><\/div>\n<p>With Ukraine reporting a bumper harvest this year despite the war, it is desperate to sell its produce but Russia has effectively made shipping from Ukrainian sea ports impossible so it has had to turn increasingly to Romania\u2019s port of Constanta (pictured) to the south for help.
