The MOL order was also <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/splash247.com\/mol-adds-more-lng-powered-ships-lays-out-fuel-mix-plans-through-to-2050\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the first confirmed<\/a><\/span> for VLCCs since June 2021 that brought to an end a record ordering drought for the supertanker sector.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mailmunch-forms-in-post-middle\" style=\"display: none !important;\"><\/div>\n<p>The shipping giant has 21 VLCCs in its fleet with now four more units set to deliver from DACKS between 2025 and 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Ralph Leszczynski, head of research at brokers Banchero Costa said the contracts reflected fresh interest in the ship type at a time when the orderbook was slim. \u201cThe orderbook for VLCCs is very small.
