{"id":34344,"date":"2023-07-25T14:31:48","date_gmt":"2023-07-25T11:31:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/magni-partners-hammers-out-deal-for-up-to-six-new-vlccs\/34344\/"},"modified":"2023-07-25T14:31:48","modified_gmt":"2023-07-25T11:31:48","slug":"magni-partners-hammers-out-deal-for-up-to-six-new-vlccs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/magni-partners-hammers-out-deal-for-up-to-six-new-vlccs\/34344\/","title":{"rendered":"Magni Partners hammers out deal for up to six new VLCCs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content entry clearfix\">\n<div class=\"mailmunch-forms-before-post\" style=\"display: none !important;\"><\/div>\n<p>London-based Magni Partners has made a deal to order up to six VLCCs from New Times Shipbuilding in China for $138m per vessel.<\/p>\n<p>The order comes soon after one of the most famous names in Norwegian maritime Tor Olav Tr\u00f8im said that Magni Partners, his private investment vehicle, would order VLCCs.<\/p>\n<p>During a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/splash247.com\/after-15-years-of-bearishness-im-getting-bullish-tor-olav-troim-makes-vlcc-return\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">speech<\/a><\/span> at Marine Money\u2019s New York conference in June, Tr\u00f8im told delegates that he felt that it was the right time to get back into the tanker business after a 15-year absence.<\/p>\n<p>He also told the attendees that he would be getting his feet \u201ca little wet\u201d with just two VLCC orders due to the incredibly low global orderbook.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mailmunch-forms-in-post-middle\" style=\"display: none !important;\"><\/div>\n<p>The details of this little \u201cdip\u201d into VLCC waters were revealed by Allied Shipbroking yesterday with news of two firm ships and options for up to four more. <\/p>\n<p>The 320,000 dwt vessels will deliver from China in 2026 and 2027.
