{"id":34172,"date":"2023-06-22T12:54:48","date_gmt":"2023-06-22T09:54:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/donsotank-orders-two-chemical-tankers-from-wuhu-shipyard\/34172\/"},"modified":"2023-06-22T12:54:48","modified_gmt":"2023-06-22T09:54:48","slug":"donsotank-orders-two-chemical-tankers-from-wuhu-shipyard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/donsotank-orders-two-chemical-tankers-from-wuhu-shipyard\/34172\/","title":{"rendered":"Dons\u00f6tank orders two chemical tankers from Wuhu Shipyard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content entry clearfix\">\n<div class=\"mailmunch-forms-before-post\" style=\"display: none !important;\"><\/div>\n<p>Sweden-based Dons\u00f6tank has ordered two dual-fuel 22,500 dwt oil and chemical tankers newbuilds from Chinese shipbuilder Wuhu Shipyard.<\/p>\n<p>Dons\u00f6tank said via its social media channels that the construction and equipment of these vessels would follow the same blueprints as its previous vessels Prospero and Pacifico \u2013 also built by Wuhu Shipyard and delivered to the Swedish company in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The two newly ordered newbuilds will be delivered to Dons\u00f6tank in the second and fourth quarters of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The new chemical tankers will be 167 meters long, 26.5 meters wide, and have a cargo capacity of 27,800 cubic meters.<\/p>\n<p>According to the company, the LNG-LBG\/diesel dual-fuel propulsion, 500kWh battery pack, shore power connection, SCR-catamiser, and a waste heat recovery system will enable cleaner and more efficient operations.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mailmunch-forms-in-post-middle\" style=\"display: none !important;\"><\/div>\n<p>Another feature on the vessels will be a special coating of the cargo tanks which will allow the company to safely load a wide range of emerging cargoes including bioproducts, biofuels, animal fats, and other upcoming commodities in the industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we navigate the path towards the future of shipping, our commitment to adapt our fleet remains resolute. It is not only about meeting regulations but also about actively contributing to the advancement of the industry and shaping the future of shipping,\u201d the company stated.<\/p>\n<p>Wuhu Shipyard found itself in the headlines a few times recently. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/splash247.com\/egpn-in-for-chemical-tankers-at-wuhu-shipyard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">In April<\/a><\/span>, EGPN ordered four firm plus four optional 18,500 dwt chemical tankers from the shipbuilder.<\/p>\n<p>The other reason was far from positive though.
