{"id":33891,"date":"2023-05-30T20:09:36","date_gmt":"2023-05-30T17:09:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/port-of-aberdeen-looks-into-underwater-hydrogen-storage\/33891\/"},"modified":"2023-05-30T20:09:36","modified_gmt":"2023-05-30T17:09:36","slug":"port-of-aberdeen-looks-into-underwater-hydrogen-storage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/port-of-aberdeen-looks-into-underwater-hydrogen-storage\/33891\/","title":{"rendered":"Port of Aberdeen looks into underwater hydrogen storage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content entry clearfix\">\n<div class=\"mailmunch-forms-before-post\" style=\"display: none !important;\"><\/div>\n<p>Port of Aberdeen has tapped Subsea 7 to investigate the feasibility of establishing underwater hydrogen storage at South Harbour.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Oslo-listed company will carry out extensive engineering studies to identify the optimum technology solution and a suitable offshore site, as well as outline a business case.<\/p>\n<p>The Port of Aberdeen\u2019s \u2018H2Shore \u2013 Hydrogen coastal storage and distribution\u2019 project has secured \u00a3150,000 in funding from the Scottish Government under the Hydrogen Innovation Scheme, which was set up to drive innovation in the production, storage, and distribution of renewable hydrogen.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mailmunch-forms-in-post-middle\" style=\"display: none !important;\"><\/div>\n<p>The Scottish port is targeting net zero emissions from visiting vessels, as well as its own operations, by 2040.
