{"id":33560,"date":"2023-05-04T04:45:21","date_gmt":"2023-05-04T01:45:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/concordia-maritime-offloads-product-tanker\/33560\/"},"modified":"2023-05-04T04:45:21","modified_gmt":"2023-05-04T01:45:21","slug":"concordia-maritime-offloads-product-tanker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/concordia-maritime-offloads-product-tanker\/33560\/","title":{"rendered":"Concordia Maritime offloads product tanker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content entry clearfix\">\n<div class=\"mailmunch-forms-before-post\" style=\"display: none !important;\"><\/div>\n<p>Stena-backed Swedish tanker player Concordia Maritime has sold its 2010-built post panamax products carrier<br \/>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color:#00adeb;\" class=\"mt_tooltip\" data-mturl=\"\/en\/ais\/details\/ships\/shipid:371610\/mmsi:310602000\/vessel:371610\" data-info=\"STENA PENGUIN [BM]\" data-photourl=\"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/file\/2023\/05\/Concordia-Maritime-offloads-product-tanker.aspx.jpeg\" data-assetname=\"9391476\" data-assettype=\"IMO number\">Stena Penguin<\/span> to a European buyer for delivery in the second quarter of 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The sale of the 65,200 dwt ship, VesselsValue estimates as worth $29.1m, is expected to have a positive liquidity effect of around SEK215m ($21m) after repayment of the remaining bank debt to Svenska Skeppshypotek.<\/p>\n<p>The unit built at Brodosplit Shipyard in Croatia has been on a five-year charter, including profit-sharing, to Stena Bulk since 2021 and has recently been redelivered to Stena Bulk after a 12-month charter with ExxonMobil.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mailmunch-forms-in-post-middle\" style=\"display: none !important;\"><\/div>\n<p>The move will see Concordia\u2019s fleet down to three product tankers. <em>Stena Progress<\/em> and <em>Stena Premium<\/em> are currently employed on medium-term contracts under a time charter with Stena Bulk. Meanwhile, <em>Stena Polaris<\/em> is on a bareboat contract to US Crowley Government Services, with extension options until the end of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Concordia Maritime CEO Erik Lewenhaupt, commented: \u201cWe are now divesting another vessel with a good margin. The sale is being made primarily in the context of the current record strong market for secondhand tonnage. The process of planning for the future is continuing in parallel to this.
