In October 2018, HHI received an approval for its&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/worldmaritimenews.com\/archives\/254606\/hyundai-heavy-seeks-uscg-bwms-type-approval\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HiBallast BWMS<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Worth noting is that China\u2019s COSCO Shipbuilding Industry obtained its first BWMS type approval in September this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To protect the marine environment from invasive species carried in ships\u2019 ballast water, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) adopted the Ballast Water Management Convention which&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/worldmaritimenews.com\/archives\/229362\/ballast-water-management-convention-enters-into-force\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">entered into force<\/a>&nbsp;in September 2017. On the other hand, the United States constituted an original stringent ballast water management regulations.
