{"id":3348,"date":"2019-10-11T18:30:16","date_gmt":"2019-10-11T15:30:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/?p=3348"},"modified":"2019-10-11T18:30:18","modified_gmt":"2019-10-11T15:30:18","slug":"maersk-tankers-names-18th-mr-unit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/maersk-tankers-names-18th-mr-unit\/3348\/","title":{"rendered":"Maersk Tankers Names 18th MR Unit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Danish tanker owner and operator Maersk Tankers held a naming ceremony for Maersk Curacao, its eighth MR unit being delivered by Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The naming ceremony was held at SHI\u2019s shipyard in Ningbo, China, on October 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maersk Curacao is the 18th out of a total of 19 MR tankers being built as part of the company\u2019s fleet renewal program in the segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like the sister ship Maersk Crete,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/worldmaritimenews.com\/archives\/280645\/maersk-tankers-names-its-seventh-samsung-built-mr2-unit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">which was named in July this year<\/a>, Maersk Curacao flies the Singaporean flag and has a capacity of 52,914 cbm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maersk Curacao is also the eighth out of nine units SHI is building for the company under a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/worldmaritimenews.com\/archives\/172013\/maersk-tankers-orders-9-at-samsung-ningbo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">contract<\/a>&nbsp;signed in September 2015.
