At the end of October, MV Barramundi is expected to start combination trading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last week, the abovementioned Chinese shipyard handed over the Panamax bulk carrier newbuilding to KCC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FTorvaldKlaveness%2Fposts%2F2426683944213295&amp;width=500&amp;show_text=false&amp;height=243&amp;appId\" width=\"500\" height=\"243\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The 82,400 dwt Barramundi is the third of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/worldmaritimenews.com\/archives\/276985\/klaveness-combination-carriers-orders-two-more-cleanbus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eight contracted CLEANBU combination carriers<\/a>&nbsp;that will be delivered by New Yangzi Shipyard to Klaveness between 2019 and 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first vessel from the batch,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/worldmaritimenews.com\/archives\/268238\/klaveness-takes-delivery-of-its-1st-cleanbu-vessel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MV Baru<\/a>, was delivered in January this year and the second, MV Barracuda, in late July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As explained by Klaveness, the next generation of combination carriers has an advanced vessel design, environmental performance as well as operational and technical efficiency. These vessels have up to 40% lower CO2 emissions per ton mile transported cargo compared to standard vessels and go a long way in meeting IMO\u2019s 2050 targets of a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions from shipping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the delivery of the MV Barramundi, KCC will operate a fleet of 12 combination carriers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Klaveness Combination Carriers\u2019 (KCC) third CLEANBU vessel departed New Yangzi Shipyard in China on September 25, beginning its first employment.
