{"id":31098,"date":"2022-08-16T14:00:10","date_gmt":"2022-08-16T11:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/skanska-seals-virginia-offshore-wind-port-deal\/31098\/"},"modified":"2022-08-16T14:00:10","modified_gmt":"2022-08-16T11:00:10","slug":"skanska-seals-virginia-offshore-wind-port-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/skanska-seals-virginia-offshore-wind-port-deal\/31098\/","title":{"rendered":"Skanska seals Virginia offshore wind port deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content entry clearfix\">\n<div class=\"mailmunch-forms-before-post\" style=\"display: none !important;\"><\/div>\n<p>Swedish construction and development company Skanska has penned a contract with the Virginia Port Authority for the redevelopment of the Portsmouth marine terminal for use as an offshore wind staging port.<\/p>\n<p>The $223m deal supports the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project which is the largest offshore wind project of its kind in the US.<\/p>\n<p>The port project will redevelop approximately 72 acres of the 287-acre terminal which will improve 1,500 feet of an existing 3,540-foot wharf.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mailmunch-forms-in-post-middle\" style=\"display: none !important;\"><\/div>\n<p>Construction commenced last month and completion is scheduled for 2025.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/splash247.com\/virginia-regulators-approve-dominions-2-6-gw-offshore-wind-farm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dominion Energy\u2019s<\/a><\/span> 2.6 GW planned offshore wind project is located approximately 43 km off the coast of Virginia Beach.
