{"id":30966,"date":"2022-08-01T18:15:52","date_gmt":"2022-08-01T15:15:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/inchcape-expands-footprint-in-belgium-with-takeover-of-kennedy-hunter-from-conti-lines\/30966\/"},"modified":"2022-08-01T18:15:52","modified_gmt":"2022-08-01T15:15:52","slug":"inchcape-expands-footprint-in-belgium-with-takeover-of-kennedy-hunter-from-conti-lines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/inchcape-expands-footprint-in-belgium-with-takeover-of-kennedy-hunter-from-conti-lines\/30966\/","title":{"rendered":"Inchcape expands footprint in Belgium with takeover of Kennedy Hunter from Conti-Lines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content entry clearfix\">\n<div class=\"mailmunch-forms-before-post\" style=\"display: none !important;\"><\/div>\n<p>Maritime services provider Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) has agreed to acquire port agency Kennedy Hunter in Belgium from Conti-Lines Group.<\/p>\n<p>The first acquisition following Inchcape\u2019s takeover by UK-based private equity investment firm <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/splash247.com\/inchcape-eyes-further-growth-after-epiris-takeover\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Epiris<\/a><\/span>, is expected to bolster the company\u2019s footprint in Belgium, with a particular focus on dry bulk, car carrier\/roro handling and cargo brokerage.<\/p>\n<p>Inchcape Belgium provides a range of maritime services including port agency, husbandry, crew logistics services, ship chandelling, bunker fuel supply arrangement, liner agency, logistics services to oil and gas, construction, dredging, cable-laying, cruise tourism and other sectors, military support services and maritime consultancy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis acquisition demonstrates our intention and ability to drive positive consolidation within the port agency industry,\u201d said Frank G. Olsen, CEO of Inchcape Shipping Services.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mailmunch-forms-in-post-middle\" style=\"display: none !important;\"><\/div>\n<p>Conti-Lines, formerly Conti7, will continue to entrust Kennedy Hunter with its agency activities in all Belgian ports. The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>Jean-Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Brion, CEO of the Conti-Lines Group explained the reasoning behind the sale: \u201cOver the last years, the Conti-Lines Group has progressively evolved into the direction of shipowner and ship\u2019s operator activities, a maritime segment that, in the meantime, has become the group\u2019s core business.
