{"id":3001,"date":"2019-09-20T01:19:15","date_gmt":"2019-09-19T22:19:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/?p=3001"},"modified":"2019-09-20T01:19:19","modified_gmt":"2019-09-19T22:19:19","slug":"msc-third-23000-teu-boxship-named-in-bremerhaven","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/msc-third-23000-teu-boxship-named-in-bremerhaven\/3001\/","title":{"rendered":"MSC: Third 23,000 TEU Boxship Named in Bremerhaven"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Switzerland-based container shipping major Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has welcomed MSC Samar, the third vessel in the company\u2019s G\u00fcls\u00fcn class of 23,000 TEU+ ships, to its fleet.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The naming ceremony for the 23,756 TEU ultra large container vessel (ULCV) was held at the Port of Bremerhaven on September 17, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MSC Samar is currently on its maiden voyage from Asia to Europe and arrived in Bremerhaven after making a stop in Algeciras, Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 228,100 dwt newbuilding was completed at Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) shipyard in South Korea in late July 2019, according to data provided by VesselsValue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FMSCCargo%2Fposts%2F1668571986612695&amp;width=500&amp;show_text=false&amp;height=721&amp;appId\" width=\"500\" height=\"721\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Flying the flag of Panama, MSC Samar features a length of 400 meters and a width of 61.5 meters.
