{"id":2935,"date":"2019-09-14T11:28:08","date_gmt":"2019-09-14T08:28:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/?p=2935"},"modified":"2019-09-14T11:28:12","modified_gmt":"2019-09-14T08:28:12","slug":"lng-bunker-vessel-kairos-in-further-baltic-sea-firsts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/lng-bunker-vessel-kairos-in-further-baltic-sea-firsts\/2935\/","title":{"rendered":"LNG Bunker Vessel Kairos in Further Baltic Sea Firsts"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Nauticor-operated LNG bunker supply vessel Kairos completed the first LNG bunkering operation in the port of S\u00f6dert\u00e4lje, Sweden, delivering 150 tons of LNG.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The operation with the product tanker Ternsund, chartered by the Finnish fuel supply company NEOT (North European Oil Trade), took place on September 12 at S\u00f6dert\u00e4lje\u2019s oil terminal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As noted by Nauticor, this was not only the first LNG bunker operation in the port of S\u00f6dert\u00e4lje, but also the first one in the Baltic Sea while normal cargo was unloaded in parallel (SIMOPS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThe first SIMOPS LNG bunker operation at an oil terminal in the Baltic Sea marks an important milestone for the development of the LNG supply infrastructure,\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;Sonja Ne\u00dfh\u00f6ver, Director LNG Portfolio at Nauticor, commented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bunker operation is part of a contract signed between Nauticor and NEOT for the supply of LNG. The agreement covers the supply of LNG by ship to NEOT\u2019s fleet of time-chartered product tankers running on the environmentally friendly fuel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cOur vision is to become the most innovative and cost-efficient fuel solutions supply company. We are continuously seeking ways to reduce the environmental impact of our operations, including shipping,\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;Satu Mattila, Head of Planning, Shipping and Operations at NEOT, added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cWe are continuously developing more flexible sourcing options for LNG together with our partners, and the first LNG bunkering in S\u00f6dert\u00e4lje is again another great step forward.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kairos,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/worldmaritimenews.com\/archives\/271300\/lng-bunker-vessel-mv-kairos-christened-in-hamburg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the world\u2019s largest LNG bunker supply vessel<\/a>, was christened in in Hamburg, Germany, on February 8, this year.
