{"id":29313,"date":"2022-02-24T21:59:01","date_gmt":"2022-02-24T18:59:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/norden-expands-into-port-logistics-sector\/29313\/"},"modified":"2022-02-24T21:59:01","modified_gmt":"2022-02-24T18:59:01","slug":"norden-expands-into-port-logistics-sector","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/norden-expands-into-port-logistics-sector\/29313\/","title":{"rendered":"Norden expands into port logistics sector"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content entry clearfix\">\n<div class=\"mailmunch-forms-before-post\" style=\"display: none !important;\"><\/div>\n<p>Danish owner and operator Norden has entered into a new business sector of port logistics by penning a deal with manganese mining company Comilog, a subsidiary of French metallurgical group Eramet.<\/p>\n<p>Under the 10-year deal, Norden will be responsible for establishing and running a transshipment solution in Gabon, Central Africa, with an investment of around $40m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPort logistics is an exciting new growth opportunity for us as we look to take our business beyond a standard freight service to an innovative supply chain partner,\u201d said Norden CEO Jan Rindbo of the first logistics offering, where the first operation took place earlier this year.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mailmunch-forms-in-post-middle\" style=\"display: none !important;\"><\/div>\n<p>Development of the port logistics business is managed by the newly established <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/splash247.com\/norden-streamlines-business-unit-structure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">logistics &amp; climate solutions<\/a><\/span> team, headed by Adam Nielsen: \u201cThis type of logistics solution is a natural extension of our customer service offering, and we see a large potential to grow our business globally by engaging in such infrastructure development in partnership with customers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Gabon project has seen Norden establish a floating transfer station 40 km away from the existing port to allow for the use of capesize vessels.
