{"id":2889,"date":"2019-09-10T11:02:04","date_gmt":"2019-09-10T08:02:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/?p=2889"},"modified":"2019-09-10T11:02:06","modified_gmt":"2019-09-10T08:02:06","slug":"oman-shipping-company-welcomes-new-ultramax-to-its-fleet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/oman-shipping-company-welcomes-new-ultramax-to-its-fleet\/2889\/","title":{"rendered":"Oman Shipping Company Welcomes New Ultramax to Its Fleet"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Muscat-based Oman Shipping Company (OSC) held a naming ceremony for its newest dry bulk carrier, the Jabal Shams, on September 9.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Built at China\u2019s Changhong International Shipyard, the 63,500 dwt vessel was officially handed over to OSC, a member of the ASYAD Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Jabal Shams is one of four Ultramax bulkers scheduled for delivery to the company in 2019, joining a fleet of over 50 world-class vessels including LNG carriers, LPG carriers, VLCCs, tankers, VLOCs, dry cagro, and container ships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ceremony follows the naming and delivery of Jabal Shams\u2019 sister vessel, the Jabal Almisht, in Zhoushan in August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThe delivery of the Jabal Shams and Jabal Almisht is part of OSC Dry Cargo expansion program that will enhance our position in the segment as a key shipping provider for GCC and global markets.
