{"id":2795,"date":"2019-09-03T13:18:50","date_gmt":"2019-09-03T10:18:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/?p=2795"},"modified":"2019-09-03T13:18:53","modified_gmt":"2019-09-03T10:18:53","slug":"second-smart-vlcc-delivered-to-chinas-cmes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/second-smart-vlcc-delivered-to-chinas-cmes\/2795\/","title":{"rendered":"Second \u201cSmart\u201d VLCC Delivered to China\u2019s CMES"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES) has taken delivery of its second smart very large crude carrier (VLCC) from compatriot Dalian Shipbuilding Industry (DSIC).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New Vision, as the 308,000 dwt newbuild is named, was delivered from the shipbuilder\u2019s Dalian yard on August 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What makes the 333-meter-long ship smart, according to the company, is an installed \u201cintelligent\u201d system which includes assisted autopilot navigation, intelligent liquid cargo management, and integrated energy efficiency management, among other functions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first smart unit,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/worldmaritimenews.com\/archives\/279230\/china-unveils-worlds-1st-smart-oil-tanker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New Journey<\/a>, was delivered in June this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to VesselsValue data, DSIC is expected to deliver one more VLCC to CMES in October this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The vessels are part of a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/worldmaritimenews.com\/archives\/178066\/cmes-eyes-10-vlcc-order\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">10-ship order<\/a>&nbsp;unveiled by CMES in 2015.
