Iceland-based shipping and logistics firm Eimskip has appointed Mar\u00eda Bj\u00f6rk Einarsd\u00f3ttir as CFO, to take over from Egill \u00d6rn Petersen, who has decided to resign due to personal reasons.\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Egill \u00d6rn Petersen, who has been the CFO of Eimskip since the beginning of 2019, will take another position within the finance department.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Mar\u00eda Bj\u00f6rk Einarsd\u00f3ttir has, for the last seven years, been the Managing Director of Alma \u00edb\u00fa\u00f0af\u00e9lag (previously Almenna leiguf\u00e9lagi\u00f0) one of the largest real-estate companies in Iceland which she has led from its foundation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She has a B.Sc. degree in Engineering Management, majoring in finance, from Reykjav\u00edk University and she is a licensed securities broker. Mar\u00eda Bj\u00f6rk Einarsd\u00f3ttir will join Eimskip in September and Egill \u00d6rn will remain as CFO until then.<\/p>\n

Vilhelm M\u00e1r \u00deorsteinsson, Eimskip CEO, said: “Mar\u00eda Bj\u00f6rk has successfully led extensive and demanding projects in her previous role and earned a good reputation as a young and performance driven manager.\u00a0<\/p>\n
