{"id":2271,"date":"2019-07-06T04:55:25","date_gmt":"2019-07-06T04:55:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/?p=2271"},"modified":"2019-07-06T04:55:27","modified_gmt":"2019-07-06T04:55:27","slug":"containerships-in-milestone-lng-bunkering-op","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/containerships-in-milestone-lng-bunkering-op\/2271\/","title":{"rendered":"Containerships in Milestone LNG Bunkering Op"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Containerships, a subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group, has performed its first simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) bunkering.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The operations allows for the concomitant bunkering of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and execution of loading and unloading procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SIMOPS bunkering was undertaken on the company\u2019s LNG-powered Containerships Nord vessel in the Port of Rotterdam on July 4, 2019. The vessel thus became the first container carrier performing SIMOPS in Europe by means of \u201cship-to-ship\u201d bunkering, according to CMA CGM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure a safe ship-to-ship bunkering, Containerships worked closely together with Shell, its bunker supplier, with the Port of Rotterdam and with the RST Terminal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The boxship received approximately 200 tons of LNG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SIMOPS helps reduce the ship\u2019s stay in the port and avoid operational delays, therefore, reducing transit times.<br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Containerships, a subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group, has performed its first simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) bunkering.
