{"id":21822,"date":"2020-11-20T13:52:53","date_gmt":"2020-11-20T10:52:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/stena-line-takes-delivery-of-newest-e-flexer-in-china\/21822\/"},"modified":"2020-11-20T13:52:53","modified_gmt":"2020-11-20T10:52:53","slug":"stena-line-takes-delivery-of-newest-e-flexer-in-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/stena-line-takes-delivery-of-newest-e-flexer-in-china\/21822\/","title":{"rendered":"Stena Line takes delivery of newest E-Flexer in China"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Swedish ferry operator Stena Line has taken delivery of Stena Embla, the final of the company&#8217;s three new E-Flexer vessels destined for the Irish Sea. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The delivery ceremony took place at the CMI Jinling Weihai Shipyard in China on 19 November. <\/p>\n<p>Stena Embla is the third of five next-generation roll-on\/roll-off passenger (RoPax) vessels ordered from CMI Jingling by Stena Line and Stena RoRo.\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"The last two ships (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.offshore-energy.biz\/keel-laid-for-stena-lines-final-two-e-flexers\/\" target=\"_blank\">The last two ships<\/a> from the batch, which are somewhat larger, are scheduled for delivery in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>A month ago, Stena Embla successfully completed its sea trials in China&#8217;s Yellow Sea. Each ship also has the space to carry 120 cars and 1,000\u00a0passengers.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>The new Stena Line\u00a0ferries\u00a0are\u00a025% more fuel-efficient than\u00a0existing vessels. With the E-Flexer class, the company has set a new standard in terms of emissions, cost and energy efficiency, as well as performance.<\/p>\n<p>The ferry company managed to cut its total CO2 emissions by 1.7 per cent, corresponding to 24,000 tonnes of CO2 in total.
