{"id":20059,"date":"2020-10-24T16:07:42","date_gmt":"2020-10-24T13:07:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/nyk-boosts-lng-carrier-management-capacity\/20059\/"},"modified":"2020-10-24T16:07:42","modified_gmt":"2020-10-24T13:07:42","slug":"nyk-boosts-lng-carrier-management-capacity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/nyk-boosts-lng-carrier-management-capacity\/20059\/","title":{"rendered":"NYK boosts LNG carrier management capacity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Japanese shipping major Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line) has signed a deal with Total to acquire shares in the ship management company Gazocean. <\/strong><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><figcaption>Illustration only (Courtesy of Gazocean)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Under the sales and purchase agreement with Total, NYK Line will acquire all the French company\u2019s shares in Gazocean on October 22.<\/p>\n<p>Based in Marseille, France, and responsible for the management of six LNG carriers, Gazocean is now a wholly-owned unit of NYK. <\/p>\n<p>The move will strengthen NYK\u2019s ship-management system and expand the company\u2019s LNG transportation business in France. <\/p>\n<p>Before the purchase, NYK held 20 per cent of Gazocean shares and Total held 80 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition has been reviewed by Gazoc\u00e9an\u2019s employee representatives as part of the regulatory information and consultation procedure.
