The notice was published to the group\u2019s website\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmacgm-group.com\/\">https:\/\/www.cmacgm-group.com\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\" type=\"c4501c035718929204e2edd9-text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe CMA CGM network remains available to the Group\u2019s customers for all booking and operation requests,\u201d CMA CGM\u2019s statement said.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn investigation is underway, conducted by our internal experts and by independent experts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Lloyd\u2019s List reported that the cyber incident is a ransomware attack by the \u201cRagnar Locker gang\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe French carrier was asked by the Ragnar Locker gang to contact them within two days \u2018via live chat and pay for the special decryption key\u2019. No ransom price has been named yet,\u201d the shipping media group <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LLEditorial\/status\/1310490350147035136\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tweeted<\/a>. An update from Lloyd\u2019s List said CMA CGM has confirmed the ransomware attack.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\" type=\"c4501c035718929204e2edd9-text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The incident is the latest cyber attack against some of the world\u2019s biggest shipping companies.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>In April, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company <a href=\"https:\/\/gcaptain.com\/msc-reports-network-outage-cyber-attack-cannot-be-ruled-out\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported a cyber attack<\/a> that caused a\u00a0network outage at its headquarters\u00a0in Geneva, Switzerland.
