{"id":14272,"date":"2020-07-24T23:44:33","date_gmt":"2020-07-24T20:44:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/norleds-4th-electric-ferry-hits-the-water-at-remontowa\/14272\/"},"modified":"2020-07-24T23:44:33","modified_gmt":"2020-07-24T20:44:33","slug":"norleds-4th-electric-ferry-hits-the-water-at-remontowa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/norleds-4th-electric-ferry-hits-the-water-at-remontowa\/14272\/","title":{"rendered":"Norled\u2019s 4th electric ferry hits the water at Remontowa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.offshorewind.biz\/file\/sites\/6\/2020\/07\/24102759\/Remontowa.png\" alt=\"Remontowa\" class=\"wp-image-377209\" \/><figcaption>Illustration; Image by Navingo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"has-intro-font-size\">Polish shipbuilder Remontowa Shipbuilding has launched the fourth and last hybrid electric passenger-car ferry in the series being built for Norwegian shipowner Norled.<\/p>\n<p>The ships, ordered back in 2018, feature LMG 120-DEH design.<\/p>\n<p>According to LMG Marin, the design LMG 120-DEH features many energy-efficient solutions including general use of heat recovery, full LED lighting, electric power transmission, demand-dependent HVAC system, low resistance hull design, and weight-optimized construction.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the vessels will be certified to carry more passengers with the maximum being 395 persons.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Yesterday&#8217;s operation to launch the last ferry for the Norled shipowner, using a floating dock from Gda\u0144sk Remontowa Shipyard SA, went as planned.\u00a0Currently, the vessel is already docked and the same dock is being prepared for the docking of vessel number two in order to conduct its final inspection before heading off to sea trials and handing it over to the shipowner,&#8221;\u00a0<\/em>said <strong>Piotr Alboszta<\/strong>, project manager.<\/p>\n<p>Two ships from the series would be deployed to service the Fest\u00f8ya-Solav\u00e5gen connection, while the remaining two will operate\u00a0on the Mannheller-Fodnes connection. Since the Mannheller-Fodnes route is shorter, the capacity of the battery pack on the two ships will be reduced by approximately 20%. <\/p>\n<p>The first ship from the series <em>Fest\u00f8ya<\/em>, carried out sea trials earlier this month.
