{"id":13118,"date":"2020-07-08T00:06:36","date_gmt":"2020-07-07T21:06:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/powerglobe-in-search-for-lng-carrier-to-support-croatia-deal\/13118\/"},"modified":"2020-07-08T00:06:36","modified_gmt":"2020-07-07T21:06:36","slug":"powerglobe-in-search-for-lng-carrier-to-support-croatia-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/powerglobe-in-search-for-lng-carrier-to-support-croatia-deal\/13118\/","title":{"rendered":"PowerGlobe in search for LNG carrier to support Croatia deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Qatar&#8217;s PowerGlobe is looking to charter an LNG carrier to support its newly booked capacity at Croatia&#8217;s first import terminal on the island of Krk.<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.offshorewind.biz\/file\/sites\/6\/2020\/07\/07111507\/PowerGlobe-in-search-for-LNG-carrier-to-support-Croatia-deal.jpg\" alt=\"Krk LNG construction works\" class=\"wp-image-373265\" \/><figcaption>Krk LNG construction works (Image: LNG Croatia)<br \/>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The energy arm of privately-held Optimized Holding said in a statement it plans to charter the LNG vessel for a period of ten years.<\/p>\n<p>PowerGlobe did not provide any additional information regarding the charter.<\/p>\n<p>LNG Croatia, the state-owned terminal developer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.offshore-energy.biz\/croatian-lng-capacity-booked-for-next-three-years\/\">revealed last month <\/a>that the Qatari company booked capacity across a period of 15 years.<\/p>\n<p>This is the largest capacity booking LNG Croatia revealed this year following deals with Hungary\u2019s state-owned MFGK and trading firm MET.<\/p>\n<p>Also, with this deal the terminal&#8217;s capacities have been fully booked for the first three years starting in 2021. <\/p>\n<p>PowerGlobe&#8217;s booked capacity varies from 0,468 bcm to 0,936 bcm per year.<\/p>\n<p>The company previously said it would deliver cargoes to Krk from its global LNG portfolio, mainly Qatar and US. <\/p>\n<p>The delivery schedule consists of six conventional-sized vessels between 2021 and 2025, eight between 2025 and 2030, and twelve in the period from 2030-2035, it said.<\/p>\n<p>The Krk terminal will have a capacity to send up to 2.6 bcm per year of natural gas into the grid.<\/p>\n<p>It includes an FSRU connected to a jetty and additional facilities, and the connecting high-pressure gas pipeline.<\/p>\n<p>The terminal developer expects to complete works on the Krk facilities in October this year, just in time when the FSRU arrives from China.<\/p>\n<p>LNG Croatia aims to launch the long-awaited import facility on January 1, 2021.<\/p>\n<div class=\"inc-core-heading\">\n<h3>PowerGlobe looking for new deals<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>Besides booking the Croatian capacity, PowerGlobe is looking to secure additional capacities at several European LNG import terminals.<\/p>\n<p>These include LNG import terminals in Italy, Greece, Spain and the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p>The Qatari company says it targets for 3.6 bcm annual capacity by 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The company previously delivered LNG cargoes across Mediterranean and Adriatic region.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, PowerGlobe&#8217;s plans entail LNG-to-power developments and underground natural gas storage facilities for &#8220;efficient LNG supply and natural gas trading.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The post <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.offshore-energy.biz\/powerglobe-in-search-for-lng-carrier-to-support-croatia-deal\/\">PowerGlobe in search for LNG carrier to support Croatia deal<\/a> appeared first on <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.offshore-energy.biz\">Offshore Energy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>world maritime news<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Qatar&#8217;s PowerGlobe is looking to charter an LNG carrier to support its newly booked capacity at Croatia&#8217;s first import terminal on the island of Krk.
