{"id":12572,"date":"2020-06-29T19:44:55","date_gmt":"2020-06-29T16:44:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/windea-jules-verne-arrives-in-eemshaven\/12572\/"},"modified":"2020-06-29T19:44:55","modified_gmt":"2020-06-29T16:44:55","slug":"windea-jules-verne-arrives-in-eemshaven","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/windea-jules-verne-arrives-in-eemshaven\/12572\/","title":{"rendered":"Windea Jules Verne arrives in Eemshaven"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>The new Service Operation Vessel (SOV) <em>Windea Jules Verne <\/em>arrived in Eemshaven on 29 June, according to the vessel&#8217;s AIS data and social media posts from DHSS.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The vessel will soon start working at the Merkur offshore wind farm in Germany, under a charter with GE Renewable Energy, whose 66 Haliade 150-6 MW turbines are making up the wind farm.<\/p>\n<p>The Port of Eemshaven is the marshaling port for the new SOV, as GE\u2019s operations and maintenance (O&amp;M) base is situated there. <\/p>\n<p>In March, GE signed a contract with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.offshorewind.biz\/2020\/03\/03\/ge-contracts-dhss-for-merkur-om-phase\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"DHSS  (opens in a new tab)\">DHSS <\/a>for vessel agency and port logistics services at the Port of Eemshaven, to be provided during the O&amp;M phase of the Merkur offshore wind farm. <\/p>\n<p><em>Windea Jules Verne<\/em>&nbsp;has been built by Ulstein Verft in Norway and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.offshorewind.biz\/2020\/06\/24\/ulstein-delivers-windea-jules-verne-sov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"delivered  (opens in a new tab)\">delivered <\/a>to its owner Bernhard Schulte on 24 June. <\/p>\n<p>The 93.4-metre SOV, which can accommodate up to 120 people, is powered by a diesel-electric hybrid system. <\/p>\n<p>The vessel is equipped with a tower holding a personnel and equipment elevator, and a heave compensated gangway for transfer to offshore wind turbines. <\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, <em>Windea Jules Verne<\/em> can move in reverse, with the stern first, when operating infield.
