{"id":11846,"date":"2020-06-18T02:46:01","date_gmt":"2020-06-17T23:46:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/amsa-orders-apl-englands-owner-to-locate-and-recover-lost-containers\/11846\/"},"modified":"2020-06-18T02:46:01","modified_gmt":"2020-06-17T23:46:01","slug":"amsa-orders-apl-englands-owner-to-locate-and-recover-lost-containers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/amsa-orders-apl-englands-owner-to-locate-and-recover-lost-containers\/11846\/","title":{"rendered":"AMSA orders APL England\u2019s owner to locate and recover lost containers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) has issued a direction ordering the owner\u00a0of\u00a0APL England\u00a0to search for missing containers that were lost from the vessel off New\u00a0South Wales last month.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The direction also orders the owner to recover containers as agreed with AMSA.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The ship is owned by APL Singapore, insured by Steamship Mutual, and operated by ANL. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.offshorewind.biz\/file\/sites\/6\/2020\/06\/17105112\/AMSA.png\" alt=\"APL England\" class=\"wp-image-368372\" \/><figcaption>Image credit AMSA<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>AMSA has identified a priority search area of about 1000km2 stretching\u00a0between the Illawarra and Sydney\u2019s southern suburbs. <\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Drift modelling and analysis of\u00a0container sightings following the incident indicates that missing containers could be in this\u00a0area at water depth of up to 200m.
