The trial has and will see subsequent further\u00a0refuelling operations between March and July 2020.\u00a0The ship\u00a0is currently testing BFO on the route between Zeebrugge, Belgium and Santander, Spain. The BFO \u2013 based on cooking oil \u2013 being used for the trial was supplied by the biofuel company GoodFuels.  <\/p>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"block block-related-article\">\n<div class=\"card-rich \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.offshore-energy.biz\/uecc-goodfuels-to-test-biofuel-on-roro-vessel\/\" class=\"card__lazyload card-rich__image lazyload\" data-bgset=\"https:\/\/cdn.offshorewind.biz\/file\/sites\/6\/2020\/03\/04235024\/8aeb6772-bdbc-43af-84d4-a7beda8d8a9d-1.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"card-rich__element card-rich__time-ago\">\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"screen-reader-text\">Posted:<\/span> 3 months ago\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"card-rich__content\">\n<div class=\"card-rich__partner-label\"><\/div>\n<h3 class=\"card-rich__title\">\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.offshore-energy.biz\/uecc-goodfuels-to-test-biofuel-on-roro-vessel\/\" class=\"card-rich__link\" aria-label=\"Read more about: UECC, GoodFuels to Test Biofuel on RoRo Vessel\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\tUECC, GoodFuels to Test Biofuel on RoRo Vessel<br \/>\n\t\t\t<\/a><br \/>\n\t\t<\/h3>\n<div class=\"card-rich__element card-rich__meta\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"screen-reader-text\">Categories:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"card-category-list no-list\">\n<li class=\"card-category-list__item\">Business &amp; Finance<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"card__element card-rich__time-ago\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"screen-reader-text\">Posted:<\/span> 3 months ago\n\t\t<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p> By covering the fuel premium for a biofuel volume corresponding to BMW Group\u2019s freight that will be shipped on the\u00a0Autosky\u00a0during the trial period, BMW Group will be able to claim a CO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0emission reduction of 80 to 90 per cent for these shipments, totalling more than 400 tonnes of carbon, according to UECC and the GoodShipping Program.<\/p>\n<p> This is said to be a significant step towards achieving a carbon-neutral supply chain for BMW, and is the core aim of the GoodShipping Program, which enables cargo owners to reduce their environmental footprint.<\/p>\n<p><em> &#8220;BMW Group\u2019s participation to continue our trial on our ro-ro vessel\u00a0M\/V Autosky\u00a0should &#8230; signal to the automotive sector that the means to decarbonise are readily available and that our vessels are equipped to meet this most important of challenges for the shipping industry,\u201d <\/em> <strong>Daniel Gent<\/strong>, Energy and Sustainability Manager, UECC,\u00a0commented.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Transportation logistics have a huge carbon impact, so the leadership shown by BMW Group to proactively take steps to decarbonise \u2013 and recognise that solutions are available \u2013 should act as a call for others in the sector to join us on this journey,&#8221;<\/em>  <strong>Anniek Sluis<\/strong>, Growth Captain, The GoodShipping Program, added.<\/p>\n<p>  The GoodShipping Program requires shippers to commit to a reduction in their sea freight CO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0emissions.
