Saleef port is\nsituated at Latitude 15\u02da 18 North and Longitude 42\u02da 41 East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The port of Saleef is\nsituated within Kamaran Bay 50 kms north of Hodeidah towards the Saudi Arabian\nborder. This port is well protected by Kamaran Island providing safe anchorage\nof 30 meters depth. This port is a natural deep-water port accepting vessels up\nto 13 meters draft. The port has a single general cargo berth of 400 meters.\nHowever has no facilities for the handling of cargo since it\u2019s primary aim is\nfor the reception of bulk grain vessel discharging into silos at this port.\nHence all vessels must be self sustaining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is also a salt\nberth which consists of a dolphin berth arrangement with an alongside draft of\n13 meters. This berth is designed only for the loading of rock salt in bulk\nwhich is quarried near by. Currently there are very limited facilities at this\nport. There are no alongside bunker or fresh water facilities at this port.\nHowever can supply fresh water and diesel oil by road tanker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pilotage and tugs are\ncompulsory for berthing\/sailing of vessels. Night time berthing is also\npermitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
