{"id":10788,"date":"2020-06-01T09:13:50","date_gmt":"2020-06-01T06:13:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/singapores-first-lng-bunkering-vessel-launched\/10788\/"},"modified":"2020-06-01T09:13:50","modified_gmt":"2020-06-01T06:13:50","slug":"singapores-first-lng-bunkering-vessel-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.al-sindbad.net\/singapores-first-lng-bunkering-vessel-launched\/10788\/","title":{"rendered":"Singapore\u2019s first LNG bunkering vessel launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>China&#8217;s Keppel Nantong Shipyard has launched a liquefied natural gas bunkering vessel for Singapore&#8217;s FueLNG, a joint venture between Keppel Offshore &amp; Marine and Shell Eastern Petroleum. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The ship claimed to be Singapore&#8217;s first LNG bunkering vessel was moved from land to water on 28 May.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.offshorewind.biz\/file\/sites\/6\/2020\/06\/01070027\/Singapores-1st-LNG-bunkering-vessel-launched-1024x679.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-287312\" \/><figcaption>Image courtesy of FueLNG<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>According to FueLNG, the construction of the 7,500-cbm LNG bunkering vessel is &#8220;progressing smoothly&#8221; and is on schedule to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year.<\/p>\n<p>The bunkering vessel will enable the company to be the first in Singapore to provide regular ship-to-ship LNG bunkering services within the Singapore port.<\/p>\n<p>It supports initiatives implemented by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore to increase the adoption of LNG as a marine fuel in an attempt to position Singapore as a global LNG bunkering hub.<\/p>\n<p>The vessel, which will be able to run both on LNG and marine diesel oil, will be managed by Japan&#8217;s K-Line as part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.offshore-energy.biz\/k-line-inks-lng-bunkering-vessel-management-deal-with-fuelng\/\">a deal signed <\/a>last year.<\/p>\n<p>It is being built according to an LNG design developed by Keppel O&amp;M\u2019s technology arm, Keppel Marine and Deepwater Technology.<\/p>\n<p>Key features of the vessel include high manoeuvrability which enables bunkering without tug assistance, compatibility with a wide range of vessels, as well as propulsion and power management systems that optimise fuel consumption.<\/p>\n<p> The vessel has a filling rate range of up to 1000 cbm of LNG per hour and is able to supply chilled fuel to various types of vessels at heights ranging from 3 meters to 23 meters above water level.<\/p>\n<p>The post <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.offshore-energy.biz\/singapores-first-lng-bunkering-vessel-launched\/\">Singapore&#8217;s first LNG bunkering vessel launched<\/a> appeared first on <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.offshore-energy.biz\">Offshore Energy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>world maritime news<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>China&#8217;s Keppel Nantong Shipyard has launched a liquefied natural gas bunkering vessel for Singapore&#8217;s FueLNG, a joint venture between Keppel Offshore &amp; Marine and Shell Eastern Petroleum.
