to Wind Down Salvage Activities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>Ardent, a leading emergency management and wreck removal company, was <a href=\"http:\/\/gcaptain.com\/salvage-firm-ardent-reports-solid-first-year-after-titan-svitzer-merger\/\">formed in 2015<\/a> with the merger of Svitzer Salvage, then part of the Maersk Group, and Titan Salvage, part of U.S.-based Crowley Group.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Since its inception, Ardent says it has completed over 300 contracts worldwide for the maritime and oil and gas industries with zero lost time incidents.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>News that Ardent will no longer being entering into new contracts comes after recent shake-ups at the company and the liquidation of certain parts of its business, notably the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gcaptain.com\/boskalis-expands-opa-90-salvage-services-with-acquisition-of-ardent-americas\/\">sale<\/a> of its OPA90 division in the United States to Dutch marine services group Royal Boskalis Westminster in April.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>In September 2019, Ardent\u2019s top management <a href=\"http:\/\/gcaptain.com\/ardent-top-management-to-buyout-partners-svitzer-crowley\/\">received funding from<\/a> AURELIUS Finance Company, an alternative direct lender, to buyout\u00a0Svitzer and Crowley resulting in Ardent\u2019s senior management becoming the main shareholders in the company.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Later in December, the company announced it would be <a href=\"https:\/\/gcaptain.com\/focussing-on-salvage-us-based-ardent-moves-hq-to-the-netherlands\/\">moving<\/a> its headquarters from Houston, Texas to Ijmuiden, Netherlands and refocus its strategy away from offshore decommissioning to its core business of marine salvage.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Reasons for Ardent\u2019s sudden winding down and what\u2019s in store for the future were not immediately clear.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll current preparedness and salvage contracts will be fulfilled but outside of existing relations no more new salvage cases will be handled,\u201d Ardent said in a brief statement posted to social media and again on its website.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cArdent would like to take this opportunity to thank all its valuable customers and partners over the past 5 years for their trust in Ardent and its employees\u2019 capabilities,\u201d the statement concluded.<span
